Sustainability at WEFRA LIFE:

Carbon emissions in 2025 down more than 30% since 2022
2025 CSR and Sustainability Report

Health is at the centre of what we do – in every project, every day. For WEFRA LIFE, however, responsibility does not stop at our clients. Sustainability, engagement with society and responsible resource use are firm elements of our corporate strategy.

WEFRA LIFE has been systematically improving its sustainability for many years now. The latest CSR and Sustainability Report, for the year 2025, documents the progress made, the specific measures taken and the measurable results achieved in the company’s main areas of focus.

Why does sustainability play such a central role at WEFRA LIFE?

Sustainability is firmly embedded in WEFRA LIFE’s corporate strategy. It forms the basis for long-term decision-making in all areas of the business. Even in the absence of regulatory requirements, the family-run company has pursued its own targets for years and consistently refines them.

The sustainability report is based on five main areas of focus: environment; labour and human rights; ethics; corporate governance; and sustainable procurement.

What progress was made on carbon emissions in 2025?

Total emissions were reduced to approximately 1,216 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent in 2025, which is a roughly 19 per cent reduction on 2024. Accordingly, WEFRA LIFE remains committed to its approach and has achieved a reduction of more than 30% since 2022.

Progress was made in all emission categories in Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3. This was the result of targeted measures to reduce direct and indirect emissions along the entire value chain.

Challenges across the supply chain

While direct emissions are relatively straightforward to manage through internal measures, reducing the emissions included in Scope 3 is significantly more challenging. These emissions arise along the entire value chain, for example, at suppliers, in production, in logistics or in media, and are therefore largely out of the company’s direct control.

The use of materials for print purposes remains a significant emission factor and represents a significant share of Scope 3 emissions. Dialogue with partners and suppliers therefore plays a critical role in developing more sustainable solutions together and realise potential for reducing emissions.

WEFRA LIFE’s sustainability targets up to 2030

WEFRA LIFE’s sustainability strategy is aligned with international standards such as the Paris Agreement, the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol and the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) framework. WEFRA LIFE has committed to reducing Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 42% and continuously reducing Scope 3 emissions by 2030.

Responsibility beyond the environment

Sustainability at WEFRA LIFE is not limited to solely environmental matters, with social and corporate responsibility being firmly embedded, too. This responsibility includes clear guidelines on labour and human rights, comprehensive ethics and compliance structures and continuous improvement of work practices and organisational models.

What steps are going to be taken next?

The sustainability report should be seen as a continuous process rather than a finished product. WEFRA LIFE is already planning concrete measures for the coming years, including the expansion of climate-neutral services, the further development of sustainable supply chains and an external audit of the sustainability report starting in 2026.

What does sustainability mean for WEFRA LIFE in the long term?

The progress made in recent years demonstrates that WEFRA LIFE is systematically advancing sustainability – driven by data, with structure and with transparent goals. Sustainability will also remain a core element of the company’s development with clearly defined targets, transparent reporting and tangible measures.
