WEFRA is formed
Gunther Toepfer opens ‘Frankfurt Advertising Agency’ (Werbeagentur Frankfurt or WEFRA for short) on Kaiserstrasse 5 in Frankfurt am Main.

1946
The Haack family takes over
Rudolf Haack joins WEFRA.

1966
Second-generation family management
Dieter Haack joins WEFRA.

1974
WEFRA Haus is built and LA-MED co-founded
Dieter Haack is a founding member of the LA-MED association.
Dieter Haack build the first WEFRA Haus in the south of Frankfurt surrounded by nature and yet close to Frankfurt Airport.

1995
Third generation of the Haack family, MKK Verlag is founded
Matthias Haack joins WEFRA.
Ingrid and Ariane Haack take over the leadership of publishing company MKK Verlag, whose name stands for medicine, art and conferences.

1999
Ariane Haack-Kurz and Matthias Haack become shareholders
2001 - 2005
WEFRA reinvents itself
New subsidiaries are created:
WEFRA PR, WEFRA Classic, WEFRA Media, WEFRA Consult, WEFRA Publishing

2011
Expansion, and WEFRA Mediaplus is started
WEFRA Media reinforces and expands its B2C and digital media businesses. To that end, WEFRA and the Serviceplan Group start WEFRA Mediaplus as a joint venture.
2017
New build: ‘Working in the Forest 2.0’
New space for ideas: WEFRA inaugurates its new extension, creating a modern environment for creative and efficient work.

2019
WEFRA becomes WEFRA LIFE
WEFRA is now WEFRA LIFE. The new name is an outcome of the realignment the agency embarked on.
On top of that, there is WEFRA LIFE INNOVATION HUB, the innovative centerpiece for visionary services, product ideas and platforms.

2022
The fourth generation now on board
Niklas Kurz becomes the Chief Operating Officer of WEFRA LIFE.

2023
WEFRA LIFE Group grows further
dk Life Science Communications, a leading PR agency and established name in healthcare marketing, becomes part of the group of companies.

2024
Acquisition of
Conseil Média Santé
Together with Mediaplus, WEFRA LIFE acquires Conseil Média Santé, a French healthcare media agency, and in doing so gives a determined boost to its international presence.
2024
Adrian Haack arrives at WEFRA LIFE – further internationalisation
Adrian Haack enters WEFRA LIFE to lead international business and continue the generational change.
The Mediaplus Group and WEFRA LIFE Group start WEFRA MEDIAPLUS GLOBAL HEALTH, their strong joint venture offering a unique, independent and global HCP media set-up for a key competitive edge.

2025
AI first, and Adrian Haack joins the management team
WEFRA LIFE pursues an even stronger digital alignment with an AI-first strategy. Adrian Haack additionally moves into the management team and supports the group’s ongoing development.
