Pink Ribbon breastcare App

Because breast cancer affects us all.

Pink Ribbon – language should not limit early detection. Breast cancer affects women globally but not all of them have the same access to information. Many women of a migrant background are not all that familiar with early detection services, and language barriers, cultural differences and a lack of knowledge stand between them and the chance of saving lives.

Pink Ribbon and WEFRA LIFE collaborated to address precisely this with a solution which is easy to understand, accessible and culturally sensitive. That solution is a multilingual app called ‘breastcare’. It informs women across national borders and encourages them to see screening as something entirely normal.

The campaign narrates the topic from an unconventional angle: famous buildings such as the Eiffel Tower,Reichstag or Pyramids of Giza are presented in ways that invoke associations with a woman’s breast. It is a change of perspective which is touching and stays in your memory. With the support of high-profile personalities such as Sylvie Meis and Regina Halmich, it sends a strong message: breast cancer affects us all regardless of our language or background.

There are posters, flyers, print ads and digital media to carry this message far and wide. The iconic visuals also shape the look of the app, for which the UX, text and design were also developed by WEFRA LIFE. It is a campaign that builds bridges and empowers women to protect themselves.
