Commitment to a healthy planet

WEFRA LIFE has been devoted to the theme of ‘healthy living’ for over 90 years – and keeps sight of not only human health, but also the planet’s health. For over two years, the family-run healthcare advertising agency from Neu-Isenburg, Germany, has been measuring its carbon emissions. With Klim and Greenkeeper, it has recently found two innovative partners to assist it with its sustainable projects.

WEFRA LIFE has taken action for ‘healthy living’ for decades with attention-grabbing campaigns and projects. Taking action for a healthy nature is also an important matter for the communications agency. For over two years, the company has been measuring its carbon emissions with a constant goal of reducing fossil emissions where possible or offsetting them. This year, two powerful partners were found for the realisation of this project. Agritech company Klim promotes renewable and biodiverse agriculture in Germany through the sale of certificates. The financial support is used for the development of a fully renewable food system. Niklas Kurz, Chief Operating Officer of WEFRA LIFE, is pleased about the cooperation: ‘We are working together with Klim to contribute to transformation in Germany’s agriculture and, in doing so, to the long-term protection of our shared ecosystem.’

Greenkeeper is another organisation that has accepted the challenge of contributing to a reduction in global carbon emissions. As a specialist for permanent carbon storage, the company has developed an innovative recycling system that enables continuous carbon capture and, consequently, helps stabilise the climate.

Furthermore, Greenkeeper takes action to care for and maintain forests, which is also an important concern for WEFRA LIFE. ‘Here in Neu-Isenburg, we work directly in the forest, so we talk about “working in the forest”,’ Niklas Kurz explains, ‘We would like to keep doing that in the future, too. For that reason, we get involved and take action for a climate-resistant and biodiverse forest. We work together with Greenkeeper so that we, with Germany’s forest owners, can contribute to the forest’s future and preserve wood as a commodity for future generations.’
